The bathing unit comprises of a frame assembly that is formed from two inverted C shaped frames (3) joined by bracing sections (5) at either end. The bracing section are articulated at their middles such that the two frame sections can be folded toward one another. A bath (B) has peripheral lips that engage the top bars on the frame sections. A flat panel (12) is mounted to one of the frame sections such that it can be swung over the bath to form a work top.
