COMMUNICATION TERMINAL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR TERMINAL MONITOR PACKET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication terminal device and a control method which can suppress communication cost for connection with a network and recognize the state of a client. SOLUTION: Communication terminal devices 2 and 3 which connect a LAN and a network between a server 1 and a client 4 on the LAN decide whether or not packets from the server 1 or client 4 needs to be received and repeated and when it is decided that the repeating is necessary, the packets is connected to the opposite communication terminal device 2 or 3; and then the packets from the server 1 or client 4 are sent out to the network and when no packet from the server 1 or client 4 is received for a predetermined specific time and a non-communication state is entered, connection with the network is cut off. Connection with the network is made when necessary and cut off when not necessary. Consequently, the communication cost is reduced and the server 1 can recognize the state of the client 4.
