MANUFACTURE METHOD OF FIBER GRATING OPTICAL MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an optical resonator by optically coupling an optical fiber which has a fiber grating FG with an optical amplifier. SOLUTION: An optical fiber 14 with a fiber grating 14a at the core is aligned relatively with a semiconductor optical amplifier 16 and a light transmitting plane 16a of the optical amplifier 16 with one end of the optical fiber 14, thus constituting a fiber grating optical module. For manufacturing this module, the optical amplifier 16 and the optical fiber 14 are disposed so that one end of the optical fiber 14 faces the transmitting plane 16a. A light of a prescribed wavelength is applied to the light transmitting plane 16a through one end 14b of the optical fiber 14, and a light at a prescribed wavelength reflected on a light reflection plane 16b of the amplifier 16 is extracted from the other end 14c of the fiber 14 to adjust the relative position of the fiber 14 to the amplifier 16, based on the intensity of this light.
