ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent(EL) element of high efficiency and low cost having merits of organic and inorganic materials. SOLUTION: This organic EL element has a hole injecting electrode 2, an electron injecting electrode 7, an organic layer having a luminous layer 4 between these electrodes and a high-resistant inorganic electron transport layer 5 having a communicating path for blocking holes and transferring electrons between the luminescent layer 4 and the electron injecting electrode 7. The element also has an organic electron injecting layer 6 between the high-resistant inorganic electron transport layer 5 and the electron injecting electrode 7 and has a high-resistant inorganic hole injecting transport layer 3 having a communicating path for blocking the electrons and transferring the holes between the luminescent layer 4 and hole injecting electrode 2.
