PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the connection between a head and a printed circuit by providing a magnetic head device with a head mounting base made of an insulating material and having first and second surfaces, a printed circuit formed on the first surface, and a plurality of terminals that are exposed on the second surface, and penetrating from the first surface to the second surface to electrically connect the printed circuit to the plurality of terminals. SOLUTION: The magnetic head device 1 is provided with a printed circuit 3 formed on the front face side of a head attachment base 2 that is made of an insulating material such as ceramic, an insulating substrate 4 attached at the top section of the head attachment base 2, a thin film inductive head 5 formed on the insulating substrate 4, and heat terminals 6 to be exposed on a rear face of the head attachment base 2 as terminals for the thin film inductive head 5. The printed circuit 3 and the thin film inductive head 5 are electrically connected to each other via connection lines that utilize through holes 8. Thus, no wiring connection utilizing a wire or a flexible printed circuit board is required.
