A prosthetic joint for replacement of a natural bone joint comprises a first prosthetic component 200 having a first superior bearing surface. At least a portion of the first superior bearing surface defines a primary load bearing segment S2. A second prosthetic component 300 has a second superior bearing surface 302 in articulation with primary load bearing segment S2. Primary load bearing segment S2 is formed to constantly maintain a same contact configuration with second superior bearing surface 302 over a range of articulation extending from 0 degrees of flexion to at least 45 degrees of flexion.
