PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure without corrective calculation and to easily measure distribution in a longitudinal direction with one sensor by reducing an effect of a magnetism fluctuation of a surface part. SOLUTION: This is a method for measuring a carburized depth of a face having a sensor arranged and the opposite face. A frequency having a penetration depth of at least a thickness of a material (p) to be measured or more is applied to an exciting coil 2 and a magnetic flux is generated inside the material (p). The generated magnetic flux is detected as an induced voltage of a detecting coil 3 arranged closely by the exciting coil 2. A high-frequency is extracted from the induced voltage of the detecting coil 3 for measuring the carburized depth using an amplitude value or a phase value thereof. Thus, the carburized depth existing in the face having the sensor arranged and the opposite face is accurately measured by one sensor without using a correction by another sensor. Also, distribution extending along the overall length is easily measured because measurement can be performed while moving the sensor.
