摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To examine the thickness of a film formed on the internal surface of a steel pipe having a fitting at its end by inserting an examining device into the pipe through the clearance at the end of the pipe by deforming the device and moving the device from the outside while the device is kept in the central part of the pipe. SOLUTION: Holding sections 1 and 2 respectively positioned to the front and rear sides of an examining device are connected to each other by means of a spring frame 3 through a rotating shaft 9. A tube 10 is attached to the end of the holding section 2. The examining device can be inserted into a steel pipe through the clearance G at the end of the pipe by deforming the device by bending or twisting the spring frame 3 positioned to the center of the device. While the examining device is kept in the central part of the steel pipe after the device is inserted into the pipe in the above-mentioned way, the thickness of a film, such as the plated film, etc., formed on the internal surface of the pipe is measured by pressing the probe 12 of the device against the internal surface at an arbitrary position. Therefore, the examination can be carried out economically in a short time, because the thickness can be measured without removing nor replacing members.
