PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by suppressing deterioration in image quality such as dirt on background and blurred image caused by a floating original in the case of using an automatic document feeder ADF through revision of a parameter of image processing. SOLUTION: A system controller (discrimination means) 220 uses an ADF 120 to discriminate whether or not image data are received. An image processing unit (revision means) 200 revises a setting value used for respective image processing of an RGB smoothing filter 202, a background elimination circuit 203 and an edge emphasis filter 206 on the basis of the discrimination result.
