The invention relates to a woven fabric made of cellulose blended with polyester fibers, meant for the manufacture of outerwear and bedclothes, and to a process for producing said woven fabric. According to the invention, the woven fabric contains 20...to 55 % of the percentage of polyester fibers, existing in the yarn structure as dope dyed textured polyester fibers, and the cellulose fibers comprise 100% cotton fibers or a blend of 33 % cotton and 67 % rayon staple fiber. According to the invention, the process consists in that the grey fabric is subjected first to causticizing by soaking with kiering liquor containing sodium hydroxide in a concentration of 12 ...27° Be and 1 to 2 g/l quick wetting agent of anionic type, at ambient temperature, the advance speed of the fabric being of 30 to 40 40 m/min, then after a dwell for 40 to 70 min. the woven fabric which was soaked, washed, neutralized and bleached is subjected to drying without stretching at a temperature of 80 to 100° C with an advance of 6 to 8 %.
