PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing unit with high display entertainment by replacing picture data within a prescribed area with other data and compositing the resulting data as one of effects applied to the picture data generated through image pickup by a CCD video camera. SOLUTION: A graphic chip 81 copies original picture data stored in a VRAM 81 to a built-in buffer 81b and stored therein. The graphic chip 81 stores the original picture data inverted horizontally to a buffer 81B. The graphic chip 81 appliesαblending to the original picture data and the inverted picture data on the basis of anαvalue in a table.
