PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of a battery unit and shortening of life by maintaining the forced off state of a switch according to a forced off signal being supplied from the outside. SOLUTION: On the shipment of electronic equipment 11, a battery unit 1 applies voltage to a set terminal 3 while battery cells E1, E2, and E3 are charged to some degrees, and a set terminal 3 is set to 1, thus fixing the output of a flip-flop 2 to 1, fixing an FET 104 for discharging control to an off state for fitting to the electronic equipment 11 for shipping. The FET 104 for preventing discharging is fixed to the off state on shipment, thus securely cutting off the connection between the battery cells E1, E2, and E3 and a DC-DC converter 12 which largely consumes power during operation stop in the electronic equipment 11, hence minimizing the discharging up to when opened and used after shipment of the battery unit 1, and thus preventing the excessive discharging of the battery cells E1, E2, and E3 of the battery unit 1 for preventing deterioration even when the battery unit 1 is not used for a long time after the shipment.
