PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resonance switching power source for lighting a lamp, which reduces switching loss due to overcurrent at start. SOLUTION: A DC power source 2, an inverter 4 where a pair of switching elements 8a and 8b which are connected in series to the DC power source 2 in parallel, a series circuit where a resonance reactor 10 installed in the output of the inverter 4, a resonance capacitor 12 and an output transformer 14, and an output rectifier 16 connecting the output of the output transformer 14, are provided. Current flowing in a load 20 is detected by a detector 26. A switch control signal is gradually inputted to the switching element from small current according to the detection signal. The signal is fixed by a phase longer than the half period of a resonance frequency by the resonance reactor 10 and the resonance capacitor.
