PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily, rapidly, uniformly and equally peel the coating film at the bottom end of a photoreceptor drum by rubbing a blade of a rigid body to the bottom end on the outer peripheral surface of the drum and removing the unnecessary coating film of the bottom end. SOLUTION: The photoreceptor drum 1 of a cylindrical shape is immersed into a coating application vessel in which a coating liquid containing a photosensitive material is housed. Next, the coating film 2 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 1 and thereafter, the photoreceptor drum 1 is gradually pulled up from the inside of the coating application vessel. The photoreceptor drum 1 coated with the coating film 2 on the outer peripheral surface in the manner described above is subjected to a drying treatment. The photoreceptor drum 1 coated with the coating film 2 is loaded into a bottom end treatment vessel 3. A solvent liquid 4 dissolving the coating film 2 is housed in the bottom end treatment vessel 3. The blade 5 of the rigid body supported at a supporting base 6 is pressed under a specified pressure to the wiping part of the outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 1. The photoreceptor drum 1 is rotated or the supporting base 6 is rotated, by which the coating film 2 is removed over the entire surface of the wiping part at the outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 1.
