PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal panel substrate having connecting terminals which hardly give rise to corrosion, electrolytic corrosion and disconnection and enable connection with high connection reliability. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel substrate 30 on a rear surface side of liquid crystal panel substrates 20 and 30 constituting a liquid crystal cell 18 has a substrate 31, electrodes 32 for display formed of metallic films on the substrate 31 and the connecting terminals 40 which are formed on the substrate 31 and are connected to the electrodes 32 for display. The connecting terminals 40 are formed of a conductive material (for example, ITO) which is more hardly electrolytically corroded than metal (for example, aluminum) forming the electrodes 32 for display. The electrodes 32 for display have a lower layer film consisting of the same material as the material of the connecting terminals 40 as a lower layer of the metallic film. The liquid crystal panel substrate 30 has a particulate layer formed by coating particulates between the electrodes 32 for display and the substrate 31.
