PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a signal detector circuit or oscillator circuit with low power consumption, utilizing a single-electron tunnel junction. SOLUTION: A signal detector circuit for detecting an input signal RFin modulated at a specified frequency has a former stage circuit 20, wherein a first single-electron tunnel junction SJ1 fed with a power via a first load R1 and the input signal RFin is fed to this junction SJ1 via a first capacitor C1 to generate an output according to the difference between an input signal frequencyωi and a self-excited frequencyωSET of the tunnel junction SJ1 or the amplitude of the input signal, and also has a latter stage circuit 22, which outputs a demodulated signal of the input signal as the output of a first circuit is fed. Since the former stage circuit generates an output according to the difference between the input signal frequencyωi and the self-excited frequencyωSET of the tunnel junction SJ1 or the amplitude of the input signal, a high-frequency input signal modulated at a prescribed frequency can be detected.
