PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the standby current from increasing from an expected value by transiting a booster control circuit from an active state into a standby state so as to quickly make a boosted voltage a prescribed voltage. SOLUTION: An ACTIVE signal rises in the booster control circuit receiving a trailing edge of a signal that rises as a result of a transited address signal and falls down after a prescribed time and a sensing circuit activating signal VPP EB goes to be at a low level. When a sensing circuit 2 senses reduction in an output VPP due to a charge discharge current of a word line and a column gate, an oscillator activating signal OSCE goes to be at a high level to operate an oscillator 1, which outputs a clock signal. The booster circuit 2 conducts boosting. When the ACTIVE signal automatically restores to be at a low level after the lapse of a prescribed time and the output VPP does not yet reach a prescribed voltage, the boosting circuit 2 continues boosting. When the VPP reaches a prescribed voltage, only a standby VPP control circuit is operated after that.
|
