PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless transmission-type failure section orienting device capable of operating only on a solar cell power source formed of a solar cell and a battery. SOLUTION: A wireless transmission-type failure section orienting device is constituted of an orienting part 7 to detect changes in current through an overhead earth-wire; a wireless transmitting means formed of a satellite wireless installation 2 for transmitting information of the orienting part 7, an NCU (Network Control Unit) 3, a PB unit 5, and a modem 6; a solar cell power source 10 to supply power for the orienting part 7; and a power control part to supply power for the wireless transmitting means. A second power control part 9 to supply power for the wireless transmitting means only where the orienting part 7 transmits information to the orienting device, and a delay timer 11 to delay the supply of power for the NCU 3 by a predetermined time, are incorporated into the orienting device.
