PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical measuring apparatus which can highly accurately measure the image density. SOLUTION: The optical measuring apparatus 10 is equipped with a lens 14 which has an optical axis CL perpendicular to a paper pace P. A photoelectric transducing element 18 such as a photodiode or the like is set to the vicinity of a rear focal plane of the lens 14 on the optical axis CL of the lens 14. An LED 12 having an irradiation optical axis agreeing or nearly agreeing with the optical axis CL of the lens 14 is set to the opposite side via the paper P to where the condensing lens 14 is set. A limiting member 22 is arranged between the paper P and the light source 12. An irradiation light from the light source 12 is limited by the limiting member 22 and projected to the paper face P. The irradiation light is accordingly projected to a range of an irradiation area Ar on the paper face P.
