PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a maintenance work when an abnormal value is detected in an image forming device that has a function to adjust an image forming condition by detecting a reference pattern. SOLUTION: Reference patterns for various colors are formed on a transferring belt. These patterns are detected by AIDC sensors provided for the various colors and detection values of these patterns are obtained. If an abnormal value, that is out of a normal range, is included in the detected values of these patterns, the reference pattern of the color, which is discriminated to be abnormal, is formed at the position that is capable of being read by the AIDC sensors of the colors other than the color to be discriminated as abnormal, the pattern is read by the sensor and the detected value is computed (Steps S51 and S52). If the detected value is within a normal range, the AIDC sensor, which has judged the color to be abnormal, is discriminated to be abnormal (a step S54). If the detected value is out of the normal range, the image forming station of the color, which has been judged to be abnormal, is judged to be abnormal (a step S55) and the discrimination result is displayed on a control panel. |
