<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat transfer recording material capable of easily and stably dry-forming a high-quality image excellent in resolving power and dot reproducibility and to provide an image forming method using the recording material, not affected by the coloration of a polymerization initiator, excellent in hue reproducibility and capable of directly forming an image with laser light modulated with a digital image signal. SOLUTION: A polymerizable layer 14 containing an organic polymer binder, a photopolymerizable monomer and/or a photopolymerizable oligomer and a photopolymerization initiator, a coloring material layer 16 containing an organic polymer binder and a colorant and an adhesive layer 18 containing a thermoplastic polymer are successively disposed on a substrate 12. The coloring material layer 16 preferably contains a photopolymerization initiator and this photopolymerization initiator is preferably a borate compound of a dye.</p> |
