PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the silver halide photographic sensitive material restrained from occurrence of residual dye stains and superior in storage stability. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material characterized by having a backing layer hardened with a vinylsulfone type hardener and having a pH of >=6 on a film surface on the side of the backing layer and having a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer spectrally sensitized with a sensitizing dye soluble in water by >=0.05 weight %, and containing a hydrazine derivative in the silver halide emulsion layer and/or in its adjacent layer.
