PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the bringing about of the occurrence of a state in which original metering display operation, and closing operation of a gas passage by a cutoff valve in response to alarm signal input and earthquake detection are no longer executed, as a result of the voltage of a battery with a built-in voltage necessary to normal operation of a microcomputer interrupting, in an electronic gas meter. SOLUTION: With an internal battery 36 serving as a power source, a flow rate of gas passing through an internal gas passage 31 is measured, and the gas passage 31 in a released state is closed by a cutoff valve 34 in response to a cutoff command signal inputted from an external part. Furthermore, an electronic type gas meter 3 outputs a voltage reduction signal to an external part, when the voltage of the internal battery 36 is reduced to a value lower than a given value. An adapter device 1 for an electronic gas meter is connected to the electronic gas meter, and provided with a command signal output means 11A to generate a cutoff command signal, in response to input of the voltage reduction signal and output the signal to the electronic type gas meter 3.
