PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming device in which a means is provided to prevent the occurrence of dew condensation by an operation corresponding to the temperature environment of the surroundings with a simple constitution without adding a new heater and without adversely affecting the constituting elements of the device. SOLUTION: After an electric power is turned on, a sensor detects external temperature TO and internal temperature TI of the device and discrimination is made to determine whether the temperature difference TO-TI is within a deforehand set allowable range value or not (S4). If the temperature difference is less than the value, no dew condensation occurs in the device and it shifts from a normal power turned on time process (S8) to an image forming ready state (S9). If the difference is equal to or more than the value, dew condensation may occur. Therefore, control is made so that the rotation of a cooling fan, which is normally used to discharge heat generated from a fixation section during an image forming, is reversed to heat the inner section of the device and a photoreceptor and an intermediate transfer body 2 are rotated so that they are heated without irregularity in heat distribution. |
