PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radio telephone set on which a series operations such as character specification and determination can smoothly and adequately be done with a common operation key. SOLUTION: This radio telephone set, equipped with a means for displaying characters to be inputted, a means for specifying displayed characters by moving a cursor, a means for determining the specified characters, and a means for displaying the determined characters, is provided with the operation key 12 which is arranged on the operation surface A of the radio telephone main body and enables multidirectional key movement for operation accompanied by displacement in parallel to the operation surface A and also enables key movement at right angles to the operation surface. The means for specifying characters by the movement of the cursor and the means for determining the specified characters are operated by the key movement of the single operation key 12.
