PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the accidental erroneous insertion of a medium into a floppy disk device. SOLUTION: This mechanism includes a frame 5 which holds the inserted medium 1 within a easing 1, a slit 6 which has a direction nearly perpendicular to the medium insertion direction in a longitudinal direction atop the frame 5, a V-shaped spring 8 of a V-shape and a holding member which holds the V-shaped spring 8 between itself and the frame 5 and holds the V-shaped spring in the state movable in a direction parallel with the plane of the frame 5. The two front ends of the V-shaped spring 8 are bent in a direction approximately perpendicular to the belonging plate of the V shape. The bent front ends are inserted into the slit 6 and are held energized in the direction where the V-shape opens. The one front end is arranged in the position where the front end abuts the notched part of the medium 1 at the time of insertion of the medium 1.
