PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality in an image processing (image reading and recording) by making the processing unit compact and improving operability without sacrificing the interchangeability of removable components such as a recording head. SOLUTION: The image processing unit is provided with a rotating member consisting of a feeding roller 2 that feeds an original or recording paper inserted to a feeding port 1, of a platen roller 3 that carries the original or recording paper fed by the feeding roller 2 along a carrying path provided in a circular-arc shape and supports it at a prescribed position on the carrying path and of a bracket 11 or the like, with an image sensor 12 or a recording head 14 that reads an image of an original or records a picture onto the recording paper supported at the prescribed position and with a discharge roller 5 that discharges the original or the recording paper whose image processing is finished by the image sensor 12 or the recording head 14 from an ejection port 6. The recording head or the like is configured as a removable member that can be replaced. The feeding port 1 and the ejection port 6 are provided on the same face (front face) of the image processing unit, and a distance E between the feeding port 1 and the discharge port 6 is selected to be a minimum within a range where removable members can be replaced.
