PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide blue light emittance of high brightness, high efficiency holding excellent light emitting characteristics for a long time. SOLUTION: In this organic electroluminescent element having an organic layer consisted of an organic compound laminated between a pair of electrodes, at least one of the electrodes is transparent, a compound expressed by a formula is contained in the organic layer. In the formula, respective R1-R22 independently represent a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, the hydroxy group, mercapto group, cyano group, amino group, nitro group, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, substituted or non-substituted alkoxy group, substituted or non-substituted alkylthio group, substituted or non-substituted N-monoalkylamino group, substituted or non-substituted N,N-dialkylamino group, substituted or non- substituted aryl group, substituted or non-substituted aryloxy group, substituted or non-substituted arylthio group, substituted or non-substituted heterocyclic group. A substituted or non-substituted aromatic ring or substituted or non- substituted heterocyclic group may be formed by combining adjacent substituted groups.
