PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the consumption of energy without having effect on the peelability of an image and to prevent a device from getting large and compli cated in an image peeling device where toner is removed from recording mate rial on which the image is formed so as to recycle the recording material. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an image peeling roll 1 having an elastic body layer 12 on base,material 11 and an image peeling layer 13 on the surface of the layer 12, and a pressing member 2 pressing the recording material 6 to the roll 1. The member 2 is equipped with a pressing belt 24 which can circulate and a pressure pad 22 pressing the belt 24 to the roll 1. A pressing pad 22 is supported in a non-rotating state and locally applies large pressure to the layer 12 at the exit of a nip part between the roll 1 and the pad 22. Thus, the recording material is excellently peeled at the exit of the nip part and the quantity of heat taken away from the roll 1 is made small even when the belt 24 is circularly moved.
