PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a disk reproducing device capable of rapidly starting the reading of data when the device is shifted from a servo-off state to a servo-on state. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a control circuit 18, which stores an address that the pickup 9 is reading out the data in a RAM 22 at the time when the reading of data from a CLV type disk 8 by a pickup 9 is stopped, reads out the normal revolutional speed of the disk 8 corresponding to the address stored in the RAM 22 prior to the time when the reading of data from the disk 8 by the pickup 9 is restarted, and rotates the disk 8 at this normal revolutional speed in advance.
