PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital telephone set of simple constitution which requires only a single dialing operation by a caller side until an opposite-side ringer tone is sent out without depending upon a telephone exchange and generates a specified ringer tone that notifies an emergency, importance, etc., of a caller. SOLUTION: The digital telephone set connected to a digital line is equipped with a subaddress detection part 7 which detects a subaddress transferred through the digital line at the time of termination, a ringer tone recording part 9 where ringer tones for termination are recorded corresponding to subaddresses, and a control part 1 which reads the ringer tone corresponding to the subaddress detected by the subaddress detection part 8 at the time of termination out of the ringer tone recording part 9 and outputs the ringer tone from a speaker 4. When the subaddress detection part 8 detects no subaddress at the time of termination, a standard ringer tone recorded in the ringer tone recording part 9 can be read out and outputted from the speaker 4.
