A catheter package includes a surface coated catheter 1 inside an inner container 2 that is permeable to a sterilising agent such as ethylene oxide. The inner container is contained within moisture impervious outer container 3. The outer container may be mad of a laminate that includes a metallic layer. The outer container may contain more than one inner container. This package allows the catheter to be sterilised, while keeping the catheter from contact with the outer package.
