PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress internal pressure rise in a charging/discharging cycle and to enhance charging/discharging cycle life. SOLUTION: This alkaline secondary battery is provided with an electrode group 5 of a structure wherein a separator 3 interposed between positive and negative electrodes 2 and 4. The separator 3 contains 30 vol.% or more of a syndiotactic polypropylene fiber and has an air permeability of 0.5 sec/100 cc-10 sec/100 cc, measured by the Gurley method specified by JIS P-8117-1980. |
