PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electronic element having high efficiency, a long life and a low cost by providing an organic layer having a luminescent layer between a hole injecting electrode and an electron injecting electrode, an inorganic electron transporting layer with high resistance between the luminescent layer and the electron injecting electrode and an organic electron injecting layer between the inorganic electron transporting layer and the electron injecting electrode. SOLUTION: In this organic EL element, a base 1, a hole injecting electrode 2, a luminescent layer 4, an inorganic electron transport layer 5 with high resistance, an electron injecting layer 6 and an electron injecting electrode 7 are laminated in this order, and a driving power supply E is connected between the hole injecting electrode 2 and the electron injecting electrode 7, to adjust the color tone of a luminescent color and to produce multiple luminescent colors. The luminescent layer 4 has an injecting function for a hole and an electron, a transporting function for them and a generating function of an exciton by recombination of the hole and the electron. The inorganic electron transporting layer 5 with high resistance having a conducting pass for an electron and blocking a hole efficiently injects an electron into the luminescent layer 4, enhances luminescence efficiency while lowering a driving voltage and greatly enhances electron injecting efficiency while maintaining high electron blocking performance. |
