PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device of high image quality provided with a cleaner that can efficiently eliminate residue toner on an intermediate transfer body during image formation and carry out cleaning well even at a time of abnormality such as paper jamming. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a photoreceptor 1 where a toner image is formed on its surface, a toner image forming means 2 forming a toner image on the photoreceptor 1, an intermediate transfer body 3 that is moved in circulation on receiving transfer of the toner image formed on the photoreceptor 1, a transfer fixing part T2 transferring and fixing the toner image transferred to an intermediate transfer body 3 to paper P, a cleaner 10 by which the residue toner on the intermediate transfer body 3 installed more downstream in the direction of movement of the intermediate transfer body than the transfer fixing part T2 and a cleaner position control device 11 by which the cleaner 10 is moved to a position to come into contact with the intermediate transfer body 3 at the time of image formation and to a position away from the intermediate transfer body 3 when the image formation is finished. |
