PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magneto-optical disk cartridge and a magneto-optical disk device capable of lessening the effect of wobbling of the magneto-optical disk and also capable of being made thin. SOLUTION: An opening part 17A for inserting a magnetic field modulation head 15 and a shutter 14A for opening/closing the opening part 17A are provided on the main body 12 of the disk cartridge, and when the length of the cartridge main body 12 in the direction inserting to the magneto-optical disk device is expressed by W1 and the length of the side in the direction perpendicular thereto is expressed by W2, and the length of the opening part 17A in the direction inserting to the magneto-optical disk device is expressed by C1 and the length in the direction perpendicular thereto is expressed by C2, the relation between W1 and C1, and the relation between W2 and C2 are set respectively to C1<W1/2 and C2>W2/2.
