PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power supply that can always provide a power output with high efficiency regardless of the changes in the load. SOLUTION: This power supply comprises a first controller 3 for controlling a power supply with RCC method for outputting the power in the higher efficiency when a load current is small, a second controller 4 for controlling power supply with a resonance system for outputting the power with higher efficiency when a load current is large, and a load detector 2 for detecting a primary side current of a transformer 8 as a load current. When the detected load current is small, the power supply control is executed with RCC system with the first controller 3, and when the detected load current is large, the power supply control is executed with the resonance method with the second controller 4 through the switching operation. The threshold of the load current for switching the RCC method from the resonance system is set higher than that of the load current for switching the resonance system from RCC system, in order to enhance the efficiency.
