PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for reducing the weight of an optical pickup device and for making the device compact. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device is provided with an optical waveguide 4 that is made of a silicon dioxide film with a Y branch circuit 5 on a silicon single-crystal substrate or a synthetic quartz substrate 1, a photodiode 10 that is at one end of the optical waveguide 4 and is arranged on the substrate 1, a laser diode 2 that is at one end of the optical waveguide and is arranged on the substrate 1, a mirror 6 that is at one end of the optical waveguide 4 and is formed by performing the anisotropic etching of the substrate 1, and a diffraction grating 7 and a condensing lens 8 on the mirror 6. |
