The stripper has a pivotable blade beam accommodating a blade with clamp elements distributed along its length to press a blade edge (5) against the surface of the roller (1,2) with slight elastic deformation and a beam counterweight (18). The blade beam is pivotably mounted in a frame of the mill by journals (7) on both sides and is connected to an engagement and disengagement cylinder (14) via a lever and clamp system (9-13). An Independent claim is also included for a roller mill.
