A soundproof geared cable comprises core (1); teeth (2) with metal wire(s) (4) spirally wound around the peripheral surface of the core; and synthetic or rubber tube (3) closely spirally wound between the teeth and an outer surface of which protrudes externally of an outer surface of the teeth. A soundproof geared cable has core; teeth with metal wire(s) spirally wound around the peripheral surface of the core; and synthetic or rubber tube closely spirally wound between the teeth and an outer surface of which protrudes externally of an outer surface of the teeth. The outer diameter of the tube is 1.2-5 times its inner diameter and winding outer diameter is 1.01-1.1 times a winding outer diameter of the teeth. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a soundproof geared cable comprising spirally winding teeth with metal wire(s) around a peripheral surface of a core at the same intervals; applying an adhesive agent to the core; and close spirally-winding synthetic-resin or rubber made of tube, between the teeth, with a larger diameter than the teeth.
