The process includes controlling the penetration depth of the rotating pin, whilst the workpiece is off-center the connection in order to work through a region by rotating friction welding, which extends through the contact surfaces and between the overlapping component in order to produce a welded connection which is resistant. In the production of a metallic, distorationless framework construction having connections which are formed by first and second overlapping component, the connections define an overlapping contact surfaces, where the connection consists of workpiece that can be converted to a workable, solid plastic by using frictional heat in an environmental condition. The method involves (a) preparing the rotating friction-welding workpiece having (i) a rotatable, thermal conducting middle-piece with a projection which contacts with the connections in order to store produced heat using friction, and (ii) a friction produced pin which is drawn-out with the middle-piece about a pin-axis rotatably and optionally from the projection, in order to penetrate overlapping components, when the connection is in contact with the pin; (b) contacting of the workpiece projection against the connection where the axis of the pin is adjusted crosswise the overlapping contact surfaces and rotating of the middle-piece whilst the pin is withdrawn with one of a number of turns which is effective in order to produce solid frictional heat which converts the material formable in the connection, where the rotation of the pin permits the formable converted material to rotate; and (c) controlling the penetration depth of the rotating pin.
