The flue brick element has an encompassing wall supporting an outer jacket(2), and a prefabricated insulating sleeve(8) of breeze concrete inserted in the inner opening(4) of the outer jacket. An inner opening(9) is formed by the insulating sleeve for passage of a flue gas pipe(10), especially of fireclay. Protrusions(13) project inwards in cantilever fashion from the inner side(12) of the outer jacket and upon them are seated the insulating sleeve by means of abutments(14) formed on their outer side(15).
