A grinding chamber (18) is provided for the coarse fraction of the sediment in the re-dispersed suspension. Wet classifier in the form of a centrifuge comprises a stationary outer housing, a drum vertically arranged in the outer housing, a shaft for the drum, a removal device for the classified suspension, a cleaning device and a removal device for the re-dispersed suspension produced during cleaning and containing the sediment. Preferred Features: The grinding chamber is arranged below the drum (3). The grinder is a rotating element, especially a rotating plate (19) and a number of grinding pearls (20). The rotating element sits on the drive shaft (7) for the drum. The base (15) of the outer housing (2) slopes down to the center where there is an opening (17) in the grinding chamber.
