The present invention relates to a method for treating glaucoma that involves forming a conjunctival graft and a surface scleral graft, removing the deep layers of the sclera, above the ciliary body, as well as the outer wall of the venous sinus with a transition towards the cornea, attaching the scleral graft with stitches and applying the stitches onto the conjunctiva. After removing the outer wall of the venous sinus, the corneal-scleral tissue above the trabecula and the descemetocele membrane is separated according to a projection of a Schwalb's line using a protection-peeling device which is placed above the trabecula between the descemetocele membrane and the corneal-scleral tissue. The method further involves removing the separated corneal-scleral tissue above the protection-peeling device, withdrawing the latter and providing a draining device into the intra-scleral space so that portions thereof protrude beyond the limits of the surface graft of the sclera. In one embodiment, the draining device is made in the form of a strip of a bio-compatible material, wherein said strip has a V-shaped support portion that also acts as a working portion. According to a second embodiment, the draining device is PI -shaped and includes an additional second working portion, wherein the dimensions of the working and support portions are defined according to predetermined conditions.
