Two thermoplastic components (1,2) are joined by welding using a third part as filler (3). The filler (3) is a thermoplastic containing metal particles, e.g. as fibers, swarf or powder, so that it can be melted by induction heating. The filler (3) can be shaped to accept the components to be joined or it can be in the shape of a O-ring in a recess.
