A disk cartridge designed so that when a drive pin applies a shutter-opening drive force to a surface of the projection engagement portion of a shutter laterally of the slide direction, a shutter lock associated with a cartridge case is automatically cancelled to open the shutter. The slide surface (106) of a cartridge case associated with the projection engagement portion (702) of a shutter (700) is formed with a locking hole (124), while the projection engagement portion (702) is internally formed with a locking projection (712a) capable of engagement/disengagement with/from the locking hole (124) and urged toward the locking hole by a plate spring-like urging member (748). This urging member has an inclined surface (712d) whose section tapers toward the locking projection. Installed between this inclined surface and the component wall (701) of the projection engagement portion associated with the slide surface is a lock-canceling slider (730) capable of sliding on the inclined surface (712d).
