PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit fluctuation in the load of a plant depending on a required fluctuation rate of load by regulating transportation of BM from a medium container to a furnace, even if the transportated quantity is very small and the horizontal distance between the medium container and the furnace is long. SOLUTION: This pressure fluidized bed combustor comprises a medium container 3 which is coupled with a furnace 1 through a medium transport pipe, means for supplying BM 16 to the furnace 2, and means 8, 9 for withdrawing the BM 16 from the furnace 2. The BM supply means comprises a downward transportated pipe 4, a horizontal transportated pipe 5 of appropriate length coupled with the downward transportated pipe, a transportated pipe 6 having an inclination equal to or larger than the angle of repose of the BM coupled with the horizontal tranportated pipe, and a lower horizontal tranportated pipe 7. Since supply regulation air 11 is injected into the downward tranportated pipe 4 and assist air 12 is injected independently to the inclining tranportated pipe 6 and the lower horizontal transportated pipe 7, a very small quantity of BM can be transported, even if the horizontal distance is long.
