The selected copy details are fed into a first processor (CPU1) while a second processor operates on real time signals from the process sequences. The two processors are interconnected in such a way that any abnormalities in the one are compensated for by the other. For more complex printing systems, several processors are used, each with a set range of functions. The interconnections ensure that a faultless operation is obtained even with abnormalities on one or more of the processors. The input commands can be applied via several processors so that the machine is always usable.
