A device for recording or reproducing signals on a disk, wherein a holder (2) to support a cartridge (60) is pivotally supported on a chassis (1), the cartridge (60) is provided with a shutter (61) energized in closing direction by a spring (66), a slide piece (3) is installed so that it is moved, on the holder (2), reciprocatingly between a first position where an opening piece (31) pushes open the shutter (61) as the cartridge (60) is inserted into the holder (2) and a second position to which the opening piece (31) moves further from the first position in a cartridge insert direction and where a claw piece (30) locks the cartridge (60), an unlocking mechanism is provided between the chassis (1) and the holder (2) to unlock the engagement of the claw piece (30) from the cartridge (60) when the cartridge (60) is extracted from the holder (2), and the cartridge (60) in contact with the opening piece (31) in unlocked condition is moved in the extracting direction by the spring (66).
