<p>An improved first power connector (110) for connecting to a second corresponding power connector (112), the improved first power connector including: an input (120, 122) for receiving electric power; an output (132, 136) for electrically connecting to input terminals (143, 150) of the second corresponding power connector; a switching means (194) adapted to allow electric current to flow from the input to the output when in first condition, the switching means further adapted to prevent electric current from flowing from the input to the output when in second condition; and an electronic control means for automatically switching the switching means (194) to the first condition when the first power connector (110) is connected to the second corresponding power connector (112) and for automatically switching the switching means (194) to the second condition when the first power connector (110) is disconnected from the second corresponding power connector (112), whereby when the first power connector (110) is disconnected from the second corresponding power connector (112) the output of the first power connector (110) is not provided with power.</p> |
